Characters can have "traditionally masculine traits" without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can have "traditionally feminine traits" without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can have bright and sunny pasts without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can have dark and shady pasts without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be genuinely nice, compassionate people without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be genuinely cold, emotionless people without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be powerful without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be weak without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be talented without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be royalty without without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can be orphans without being a Mary Sue.

Characters can have big families without being a Mary Sue.

tl;dr
They're not a Mary Sue unless they're an inconsistent, dollmaker, six-winged angel goddess unicorn clusterfuck of rainbows and kittens and powers and poorly constructed stories

Thanks for that. So that means just 'cause my charter is rich, she's not a Mary Sue?

Well isn't this the whole truth regarding characters who are mislabelled as 'Mary-Sues' when some of them are said plainly out of jealousy.

Well, you could start off by making edits to KK's head design. In my honest opinion, I'd nearly mistaken her for Cosmo if it weren't for the up-curved 'leaves' at the back of her head. :|
Oh, and the same goes to her attire as well. You may keep her attire simple, since she's your character and all, I can't say much about that, but you have to take into consideration that there might be some raving bastards out there who just love to find a good opportunity to pick on artists whose characters are similar to the Canon Characters. Numbskull imbeciles who needs to get a life...

The term "Mary Sue" is overused, 'nuff said :I

There's people that doesn't have idea what the hell is a Mary Sue but still label a character as a Mary Sue, and have millions of reasons to say that this character is one :I I see it like this, Mary Sue is a character that doesn't have flaws at all, end of the story.

A character is a good character, always you haven't got into the "cliche" of a certain type of character -.-

Couldn't have said it better myself ^^ It all depends on how much effort and detail you put into a character. A character can be anything if you write it well enough and not make it some...cliche story without, any depth. lol you said it best at the end I think X3

This is all true. People can tell if one character is a Mary Sue or not, and just because something not out of the ordinary is included in one character doesn't meant that it is in fact a Mary Sue.

I completely agree with each of these. The only problem I have with these specific traits is that almost everyone uses them. Either their character is dark and gloomy due to he/she's past being completely messed up (parents killed, entire clan killed, now he/she is out for revenge), or they're the happiest person alive with the strength of freaking Super Man (mostly girls). It gets boring after a while. Y'know, with seeing the same old stories and traits and everything. But none of these mean that they're a Mary Sue.
